Long drives are cherished by many grown ups , and usually loathed by almost all youngsters . While we love the open road , the need for speed , and the smell of the unknown , kids squirm in the back seat with not a thing to do but unavoidably disturb the driver and navigator . Plan ahead as parents , to not only remember to bring the road maps and clean the car , but to also bring things to keep your kids out of your hair .
Persuade your kids to enjoy road trips as much as we do by making plans in advance .
1. Kids are crazy about computer games, and the net is full of free online games that you can download for no money . Launch the Google search engine, search for free game downloads , and the lists go on forever . There are tons of types to pick from. Your little girl may love girly games, which include dress up games and makeover games. Your son might enjoy dress up games, dirt bike games and top games. After you download the games to your laptop, your kids won’t require internet access to play them.
2. Take | Pack colored pencils and coloring books to keep your little ones busy . Colored pencils are a good alternative to coloring with crayons and they won’t get soft and make a mess if left inside your car . Just remember to also bring hard and flat for them to lie on their laps. This will keep them happy for a long time during the trip .
3. If your children are old enough , bring along kid’s magazines for them to read. Many kids publications not only have stories and pictures to enjoy, but also have neat games to play, like word puzzles , mind-benders , memory games and more.
4. Since the laptop has already been packed, you might as well bring along some their favorite films on DVD. Do not forget the headphones along , so that the parents can enjoy your music up front , and the little ones can enjoy their film in the back.
There are many ways to survive long drives with your children . Use your clever ideas , and try to remember what you would like to when you were their age. If you can get them to enjoy vacation trips as much as you do, you will all be a harmonious family on the go !
